Time off

Managing employees' time off and making sure employees have enough time off from work is an important factor for meeting contractual obligation and employee happiness.

Time off can be managed in different ways depending upon the requirements which include:

  • Making sure employees are given the correct number of days off per period, for instance, 2 days off a week or 8 days off a month.

  • Making sure employees are given the correct number of consecutive days off per period, for instance, 2 consecutive days off a week.

  • Making sure employees are given the correct number of consecutive weekends off per period, for instance, at least 2 consecutive weekends off during the planning window.

  • Making sure employees are given the correct number of days off in a rolling window, for instance, 2 consecutive days off in a rolling window of 7 days.

  • Making sure employees are given the correct number of minutes off in a rolling window, for instance, 2880 consecutive minutes off in a rolling window of 7 days.

  • Making sure employees are not scheduled inconvenient shifts next to a day off request that would negatively impact their time off, for instance, a late shift before a day off.

The following guides provide examples and explain how to manage employee time off:

  • Days off per period

  • Consecutive days off per period

  • Consecutive days off in a rolling window

  • Consecutive minutes off in a rolling window

  • Shifts to avoid close to day off requests

  • Consecutive weekends off per period
