Member management and roles

On your tenant’s Members page you can invite more users to your Timefold tenant.

Access your tenant’s Members page by clicking Manage tenant in the tenant dropdown and then selecting Members in the sidebar.

User roles

When adding a member you can choose between these roles:

Viewer

Can view the models in your tenant.
Can view all datasets of your models, including their details.
Can view all Configuration profiles of your models, including their details.
Can view Saved comparisons that are marked as public.
Unlike the User role, cannot view the Solve queue at all.

Add stakeholders or auditors who only need read access as viewers.

User

All the rights of members with the role “Viewer”, and additionally:

Can create new datasets and re-run existing datasets.
Can cancel datasets in progress.
Can edit names & tags of datasets.
Can view, create, and run Experiments (preview).
Can view queued datasets in the Solve queue and their position in the queue.

Unless your team needs administration access, add them as users.

Administrator

All the rights of members with the role “User”, and additionally:

Add, edit, and delete Configuration profiles of your Models.
Add, edit, and delete Saved comparisons.
Editing the tenant’s details.
View, create, revoke, and delete API Keys.
View, create, revoke, and delete Secrets.
View, add, edit, and delete Members.
Add, edit, and delete Models to your tenant.
View, add, edit, enable, disable and delete Webhooks.
View the Audit log.
View queued datasets and change their priority in the Solve queue.

Experiments (preview) aren’t governed by tenant roles the way other Platform features are. Access is controlled by a Model API key instead: any member who can create and use a Model API key can read, list, create, and trigger experiments, scoped to the operations configured on that key.

Add a new member

Before a new member can be invited to your tenant, they must register on Timefold Platform.

Register on Timefold Platform

To register on Timefold Platform, the new user must:

Navigate to https://app.timefold.ai.
Click Log in.
Click Sign up.
Enter the email address they want to register with and click Continue.
Create a passkey or a password.
They will receive an email from us and must verify their email by clicking the Verify your email link in the email.

The user is now registered on Timefold Platform and can be invited to the tenant.

Invite a new member to a tenant

To invite a new member to a tenant, an admin must:

Log in to https://app.timefold.ai.
Select Manage tenant in the tenant dropdown, then select Members in the sidebar.
Click + Invite member.
Enter the user’s name, the email address they registered with, and select a role type.
Set an expiry timespan or custom expiry date if required.
Click Invite member.

The new member will receive an email with a link to accept the invite to the tenant.

Expiring members

When adding a new member to your tenant, you have the option to choose an expiry time. You can use this feature to give colleagues or partners temporary access to your tenant. We recommend setting an expiry time when you e.g. give a Timefold Solutions Engineer access to your tenant to help you troubleshoot a particular problem.
